Revising Priorities

When Dream Job approached me, they already had an MVP in place, but they were dissatisfied with its UX/UI. Additionally, the team expressed a strong desire to expand the MVP into a comprehensive platform by integrating additional functionalities. I was assigned the responsibility of conducting competitor analysis and generating innovative ideas.

To begin, I gathered feedback from the support team and managers to pinpoint all the pain points and inconsistencies in the existing layouts. Through meticulous UX research, we uncovered numerous areas for improvement.

Here are the most significant pinpoint:

  1. Most users rated their employers without leaving reviews or left generic reviews lacking insight into the company's strengths, weaknesses, and culture.

  2. Due to the absence of a User Account option, users faced difficulties tracking the status of their reviews and finding responses from the employer.

  3. Many users were frustrated when their reviews didn't pass moderation without explanation, forcing them to start the process from the beginning.

  4. The filters did not permit users to search for job reviews based on multiple criteria simultaneously, such as city and job position.

Employer’s Dashboard

The personal dashboard enables companies to manage subscriptions and payments, respond to reviews, and set up their corporate page on the DJ platform. Starting from scratch with the employer's dashboard allowed to implement a fresh design system from the outset and apply user research techniques with the end customer in mind.

The research for the employer's dashboard has led to significant modifications to the company page templates within the main Dream Job platform. This included the implementation of new functionalities like employees’ stories, video clips, photo albums, and social media links.

Intuitive Navigation, Seamless Access to Essential Features

The home page offers valuable information such as new reviews to address, remaining profile completion tasks, and system notifications, ensuring users stay informed and engaged. 79% of Dream Job users are more likely to apply if an employer responds to reviews, updates their profile, and shares updates on culture and work environment. DJ promotes workplace transparency, displaying the OpenEmployer badge on company profiles for candidates to see. Customizable company page allow businesses to convey their unique identity through various mediums like mission statements, employee stories, and multimedia content.

The review page offers functionality for sorting and responding to reviews, along with requesting a review from an employee, enhancing the user experience with comprehensive feedback management tools. On the Analytics page, companies access statistical data on current and past employee satisfaction, along with comparisons chats of benefits with competitors, providing valuable insights for strategic decision-making. The widget page controls the Dream Job widget on Head Hunter. Some templates imply featured reviews.

Flexible Design System

The product aesthetic is characterized by minimalism and boldness, complemented by clean typography. Utilizing a card-based design system, I developed an extensive library of components ensuring a consistent experience across mobile and web platforms. The focus was on scalability to seamlessly integrate with future implementations. Design Systems ensured consistency and cohesion across all touchpoints while fostering collaboration and across the team.

Collecting feedback from team members and users helped identify areas for refinement and enhancement. Iterating Design System enabled me to make it relevant and adaptable for everyone. Encouraging the teams to provide suggestions was also a part of building a culture of continuous improvement. This approach empowered the team to swiftly experiment, iterate, and refine over time.
